The bittersweet last day of activities began with an upper camp favorite… Laundry Day! Truth be told, the badges were flying out from the field to the waterfront. The field saw Ryan P earning his Senior Volleyball, with Isaac F finishing off his Junior Volleyball. Just down the hill the woodshop was busy with Junior Craftsman badges going out to Aiden S, Josh R, and Michael M. Across the way at Art, Jeffer V and Eyob G finished up their Junior Artists, and Tyler S finished off his Senior Artist.
After a lunch of delicious Sloppy Joes, the badge train kept on rolling. Archery saw Alex U earn his Bowman and Eyob G earn his Silverbow Archer. Of note were Joaquim B completing his Advanced Kayaking badge, and Paul G completing his Advanced Art badge! Finishing out the session of activities, five campers, Weston R, Isaac F, Trent G, Alex S, and Socrates K jumped in and swam across the lake completing Birch Rock’s first ever Penta-Duck.
Following this exciting full day, camp sat down for a hearty meal of spaghetti and meatballs, garlic bread, and Caesar salad (Enrico Palazzo’s specialty). To our surprise, after a fun game of Orb up on the field, some counselors and the CITs organized the 2018 BRC Scout Fire. Based on a Scouting tradition, campers were treated to fun skits, interactive songs, and a dazzling bonfire. As camp winds down, everyone is preparing for the last two day of fun and the surprises in store!
