If I Can Fight A Bear – June 29th Blog
Posted by: Birch Rock Camp
Saturday, June 29th was yet another exciting day at camp! The day started off overcast, but full of opportunity. In the first and second activity periods Badges were flying left and right including Brooks B., and Hatcher B. earning their Junior Tennis, Ben S., and Thomas W. Earning their Junior Canoeing, Otto K., Jesus, and Julian M. earning their Junior Lacrosse, and Eli M. acquiring their Junior Kayaking badge! We even had our first two long distance swims; Kiran, and Jesus swimming their ducks across the lake. after a delicious lunch, there was a light rain (which was so rejuvenating) that persisted throughout the rest of the day, but that did not stop the badges from flying.
After enjoying burgers and hotdogs for dinner, we finished the evening with Campfire! Many wacky shirts, and costumes were worn and cabins acted out skits that they had been preparing all week that had to include the phrase “if I can fight a bear, I can bake a cake”. Highlight skits were a Dr. Bronner’s 18 in 1 advertisement, a funny sponsor reading, quests to bake cakes, and the start of a to be continued staff Lord of the Rings funny reenactment with items from around camp. Today was jampacked with all sorts of shenanigans, and we are excited to have another great day tomorrow!
