Rockin’ at the Rock – July 24th blog
Posted by: Birch Rock Camp

What a day at the Rock! Thursday brought the perfect mix of sunshine, achievements, and special moments that made it feel like summer in full swing.
In the morning Zac M completed his Loon swim by crossing the lake and back. An incredible show of endurance and determination, Zac now joins the ranks of Birch Rock’s proud loons. Way to go, Zac!
In the old grove, the World Series of Wiffle Ball heated up as Owl’s Perch soared past Eagle’s Nest to advance to the next round. Jack M earned MVP honors for the game, tallying three RBIs and making highlight-reel plays in the field. The energy was electric and the fans were fired up—classic summer competition at its best!
The badge train was full steam ahead today, with Alexis earning three badges—Yeoman in Archery, Junior Kayaking, and Junior Basketball—all in one day. That might just be a Birch Rock record! Not to be outdone, James G also snagged his Junior Basketball badge. Great job to both campers for their effort and focus.
Meanwhile, we’re buzzing with excitement for the Bears’ return from their Rangeley Lakes adventure tomorrow. We can’t wait to welcome them back to camp and hear the stories from the trail.
After dinner, the Leadership Campers were treated to a peaceful and scenic pontoon boat ride at sunset with Rich. It was a well-earned reward and a moment of reflection for all the hard work they’ve put in so far this summer. Thank you, LCs—you’re setting an amazing example for the rest of camp.
Looking ahead, Board Weekend is just around the corner, and with it comes a wave of alumni and friends returning to the hillside. We can’t wait to reconnect, celebrate, and share the magic of Birch Rock.
It was an amazing day at BRC – until tomorrow!
