What a thrilling day today was! One of the most notable being the arrival of most of the Board of Trustees. Many prominent BRC alums had arrived yesterday, but today the whole board came and joined in on the fun with the rest of us. Many hands were shaken and many new friends were made.

Also notable, today was the Regatta in Waterford that Birch Rock participated in annually, and for the fifth year in a row, our wonderful sailors took home the trophy. We all gave a rousing Birch Rock chear to our three sailors: Thomas P-Z., Jack M., and Jake L. Congratulations to them!

Back at camp, we had even more badges flying out. Emmet C. swam his loon. William C. earned his Yeoman badge in archery. Aidan R. and Emmet C. earned their Bread and Butter badges in pickleball. Lukas J., Hunter S., and Alexis P., earned their junior canoeing badges (known as the Penobscot). Graham F. earned his senior tennis.

Dinner was a delicious meal of turkey breast, stuffing, cranberry sauce, green beans, and more. It was a feast not too dissimilar from what we have for Banquet.

The grand finale for the day was the campfire. This week’s edition included a tremendous batch of skits, including director Mike Mattson and former Head Counselor Ryno recreating their classic skit: The Zambini Brothers, a great Board skit, and many hilarious cabin skits. The campfire was accompanied by great live jazz music. Counselor David, former counselor Theo, and David P. formed David P. and the Piranhas. They did a marvelous job, especially David P. on the drums.

After a late night from Campfire, it was time to hit the hay as we brace for the epic Sunday we have in store.
