The lodge bustled this morning with the activity of the twenty youngest campers departing on trips to Blueberry and Hedgehog Mountains. This eager raft of Otters departed camp in Birch Rock shirts and smiles as they head into the woods. We eagerly await their return
tomorrow afternoon.

The rest of camp, now markedly older and about ten decibels quieter engaged inferocious badge earning activity with such fervor that mealtime announcements were teeming with celebrations of success. On the field, Sky P. earned his Yeoman at archery. Hunter S. had a powerful showing and earned his Williams (Junior Lacrosse) and Bread and Butter (Jr. Pickleball) badges. Aden R. dominated the court earning his Jr. Volleyball badge. Down on the waterfront, Cyrus C. had a dominating day earning his Jr. Campcraft badge and swimming his Duck. Spencer A. and Zeviah H. also swam their Ducks. This paddling of Ducks earned rousing “Quacks” of applause at dinner. Ryker W. completed his fire rights earning his Jr. Campcraft. Lastly, Charlie C. earned his Otter, the Jr. Kayaking badge.

We celebrated Milo S.’s birthday with a delicious dessert of brownies and cookie dough ice cream. After the treat, campers played fan-favorite Speedball. What is Speedball you ask? Well, we don’t really know either! The basic premise is that every ball in the field shed is brought out to the soccer field and thrown, kicked, and punted in every direction at once. It’s pure mayhem and enjoyment which always results in a final score of Fun to Fun. And with that, campers headed of for some much-needed rest ready for a busy Tuesday of activities tomorrow.
