Wonderful Wednesday – July 30th blog
Posted by: Birch Rock Camp

It was a wonderful Wednesday here at Birch Rock Camp. We woke up to the Midnight Phantom striking for the second night in a row. This time, its target was Hilton A and B. The Hiltonites woke up to their rooms teepeed with toilet paper. Curse you, Midnight Phantom!
There were two groups of campers that departed from camp today. The wolves headed out for their hiking and canoeing trips and 9 moose and bear campers traveled to Agawam to participate in their soccer tournament for the third straight year. The boys played well and represented Birch Rock even better. They played four games and advanced to the knockout round with a record of 1-3. They will play their next game tomorrow. Good luck, gentlemen!
At lunch, Eli Michaels introduced us to his new Argentinian girlfriend, Cankles. She was a beautiful scarecrow-looking girl made with brooms and other stuff, and was made so well that she could stand up independently. However, at dinner, Eli and Connor Polz got in a fight and Connor accidentally trampled and killed Cankles. RIP.
There were plenty of badges distributed today. Will C. and Charlie C. earned their Jr. Kayaking. Ethan N. and Emmet C. earned Jr. Mountain Biking. Emmet C. also earned his Half Sour badge (Sr pickleball) today. Gabe E. completed the Jr Basketball badge. James H. Kevin C. and Schyler P. earned Jr Campcraft. Last but definitely not least, Ben L and Schyler P. earned the Avid Reader badge.
JMG learned their results today, as well. Reports were that all participating campers did a phenomenal job, and Charlie L. and Ethan N. learned that they had passed their tests. Congratulations to them!
We concluded our day with a special announcement from King Frederick XXII. He informed us all of his big birthday dinner he is hosting tomorrow. Attendance is optionally mandatory. We do not know much of what to anticipate from this birthday celebration, but we can only assume it is going to have some eccentric medieval flair.
The day concluded with Jonah Keates informing everyone that today, with a brief rain shower putting the field out play, we would be doing karaoke! Every cabin performed a song, and every cabin knocked it out of the park. The energy in the lodge was electric, and every camper had a huge smile on.
