We eased into the day with a late wakeup and some extra rest, which helped everyone start on the right foot. Breakfast was classic Saturday comfort- cereal, followed by pancakes and bacome. We shared heartfelt goodbyes to our cubs campers. Farewells in the gold ole’ Birch Rock Fashion, with chips tossed into the fire, cheers, and promises to keep in touch.

We’ll miss you guys!

Lunch brought an unexpected twist: a mysterious bucket, also known as “The Bucket,” appeared suspended over the grove, declaring itself a takeover agent from Oak Stone Camp. With an evil grin and a suspicious voice (which may or may not have been a radio inside said bucket), the Bucket shared some of its evil plans to take over Birch Rock.

In activities, campers didn’t skip a beat; badge work kept rolling. Jack M. earned his Voracious Reader badge, and across camp folks are laser-focused on finishing badge parts as the session edges toward its close.

As evening settled in, Saturday night campfire took center stage. Chad H. and Ben K. emceed with enthusiasm, and the only rule for skits was that each had to include the line, “You can’t park here.” The result was a cascade of inventive performances: the Tragic Tale of Mr. Park Here, to Aliens, to roast battles that had the whole crowd laughing, and the classic improv bits that define BRC campfire and make it special.
