It’s rainy… wait now it’s hot? Oh no, just Taco Tuesday

At the crack of dawn, the day at camp began with an unsurprising twist as the sky opened up and rain poured down. But as they say, rain never dampens the spirit of a true camper. Armed with raincoats, boots, and an unbreakable determination, the campers embraced the watery challenge and headed off to breakfast.

As the morning progressed the rainclouds reluctantly gave way to the blazing summer sun, casting a blanket of humidity over the camp. Undeterred by the sticky air the campers engaged in a myriad of activities. Badges went flying to Javier S., Yago C., Bosco T. and many more.

As the afternoon progressed, the wind began to pick up. It swelled and swept across the waterfront, sending ripples of white caps across the lake. Rather than turn away, those on the waterfront seized the opportunity and gave way to numerous boat activities. The thrill of the wind through hair and the rush of adrenaline kept everyone on the edge of their seats.

By lunchtime, the exhilaration of the day had worked up an insatiable appetite within everyone. And what better way to satisfy that hunger than with Taco Tuesday? The grove transformed into a fiesta of flavors as the aroma of sizzling ground beef, vibrant salsa, and warm tortillas filled the air. Plates were piled high with mouthwatering creations, each camper adding their unique twist of toppings. Laughter and chatter filled the green picnic area as everyone savored their delectable creations. Some would say Taco Tuesday is the highlight of their week.

With more wind and high spirits, campers blasted through the rest of their activities for the day. With a setting sun the campus enjoyed a delicious meal of open faced chicken pot pie and freedom popsicles. A casual game of orb for the lower campers and a glorious game of blitz for the upper campers capped off a wonderful day at BRC.
