And Bingo was His Name-O – August 4th
Posted by: Birch Rock Camp
Today was a great day at Birch Rock Camp. The day started off a little rocky with some liquid sunshine in the morning that forced field activities to hang out in the lodge for periods 1 and 2. Games were played and there was a wonderful visit from former camper Campbell Hall. Though the field was brought down by the rain, the waterfront powered on and continued business as usual. Campers swam, sailed and canoed.
As we do every Friday, we had a delicious Pizza Friday for lunch. All the classics such as cheese, pepperoni and Hawaiian made appearances as well as a new “taco pizza”. Beans, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and meat all together on a nice crust. To die for. After our bellies were full, and the field was dry, we all headed to third and fourth period to run, swim and learn.
After dinner, during announcements, we said goodbye to our Cubs III campers who will be leaving us tomorrow. It’s sad to see them go, but we will see them again soon! After the chip ceremony, the whole camp came back together in the lodge to start evening activity which was…BINGO!! We played for a good long while. Campers who got bingo were able to select from a list of staff members names to be given their unique prizes. Prizes included shirts, magic cards and rare baseball cards. Once prizes were awarded, we all headed back to our cabins for a good nights rest. It was a great day.
