Today was a beautiful day for swimming! Temperatures reached into the mid-80s here, but the Don Munn Weather Dome held off for another bright, shining day here in the land of Biroca! We started the day with Eddy’s famous croissant breakfast sandwiches (although we’ve been awaiting the return of his downright scrumptious breakfast balls) and things did not slow down from there!

At first period swimming we had three (3!) long-distance swims go out. Natan B. led a rowboat across the lake, where Ramon P. bravely jumped out of the boat, into the water, and sped back to the swim docks, both completing their Ducks! Simultaneously, Max M. raced those two across and back again, completing his Loon! Additionally, it was an amazing day up on the field, with Alex B. knocking out his junior lacrosse badge after never having held a stick before, and Martin D. completing his junior tennis badge!

At this point, I would like to draw attention to the mysterious counselor subbing in for Nick “The Italian Stallion” Musciano. Since lunch yesterday this imposter has been trying to run the bells, announcements, and flagpole, all without the 10/10 muy guapo smile we’ve come to love from our favorite head counselor. Thankfully, today after an amazing TACO TUESDAY, Musc was able to chase him back down to the waterfront and return camp to its naturally balanced state.

Oddly, the kitchen staff were nowhere to be found this afternoon leaving only one option for our campers to eat…CABIN NIGHT!!!! We split up and headed for the firepits where we could cook our hotdogs, enjoy some primo Sqwincher Gatorade, and compete around the coals for a perfectly golden brown s’more. More than a few dogs were burnt and many a marshmallow was engulfed in flames, but that did not stop this amazing group of kids from having a blast! The night’s energy quickly turned to joy, and laughs could be heard from Buzzard’s to Dogpatch.
