A whale is in the water, and he’s cutting through effortlessly.

An echoing “SWIM…JULIEN…SWIM!” roared across the lake as our beloved Julien N. dominated the waters before him. 

Before we knew it, the whale bell rang and campers rushed excitedly down to the Disco Deck to see Julien finish his whale! With a stylish butterfly to close the swim, camp roared with joy and support to congratulate our whale! Of course for lunch, we enjoyed the favorite whale cake and celebratory Birch Rock cheers as well!

The day started like many other ones here: beautiful and perfectly balanced weather. With a fan favorite of french toast, fruit and yogurt to start the day we were surely ready for more fun at the good ol’ BRC. Big shoutout to the kitchen staff who consistently serve us amazing food. We are very thankful of you all!

It was perfectly sunny, clear and crisp. Blue skies, drifting airy clouds coating the sky. Fun happened from the top of the hill all the way down to the bottom. Up on the field Graham F. took the bite and earned his senior badge: The Half Sour at pickleball, and Carter C. followed closely earning his Bread and Butter badge, the junior. Field activities were in full swing and our campers enjoyed themselves fully. 

Down on the waterfront, campers enjoyed perfectly temperate waters and lots of fun. Whether it was ripping around in a kayak, enjoying a peaceful stroll in a canoe or jumping to multi-ball jackpot in the swimming cradle, the water was bursting with energy and excitement.  

As the day came to a close, we were all eargley waiting to see what met us at the evening activity announcement. The Noah Thompson explodes out of his chair with energy and confidence. The lead up, quiet campers. “Tonight we are playing The Hunt!” Roars. Through several rounds, campers battled throughout campus. Working hard as teams or through solo efforts, everyone attempted to make it to the top. Only the most determined and courageous would succeed! 

As the night dulls and the volume turns down, the loons hum us to sleep with their melancholy song. A good night was had by all.
