A counselor teaching a camper at campcraft.

Today was another exciting day at camp! We kicked off the morning with a surprise breakfast of lemon jelly-filled turnovers alongside cream of wheat cereal. For morning activities, Music offered a Guitar Hero session using real guitars, Soccer played soccer golf across camp, and at Swimming, campers spent the morning searching for the elusive McWain Monster. Several badges were earned: Liam P earned his Junior Woodshop badge, Baxter S acquired his Junior Campcraft badge, and Eli Z received his Senior Tennis badge. The Wolves age group set off on their three-day, two-night adventure into the woods.

At lunch, we enjoyed our infamous Taco Tuesday with a new addition of mango salsa. Just as the morning beauty was fading, storm clouds swept in from across the lake, bringing a refreshing downpour that cooled the heat. The rain cleared just before dinner, where we savored a delicious meal of dumplings, beef teriyaki, egg fried rice, egg rolls, chicken with peppers, and finished with a lemon poppy seed cake topped with pineapple. Later, “old George and Martha” emerged to announce bingo in the lodge for our evening activity. Prizes included a personalized plaque, the role of Staff Skit Director, counselors making your bed, Danny’s hat and autographed picture, a motorboat ride, choice of evening activity, a hammock, and even a signed Baker Mayfield jersey. Overall, it was a very fun day, and we look forward to another great one tomorrow!
