TURNOVER – July 20th Blog
Posted by: Birch Rock Camp
After a day filled with celebrations, badges, and shared final moments, we awoke to a day filled with emotional hugs goodbye and an optimism for the future. It is always hard to say goodbye to campers, but this group of first session guys felt especially hard. They brought an awesome energy and enthusiasm to camp every single day, perhaps best exemplified by the huge amount of badges (over 200!) they earned during the first session. It truly was a summer to remember, and we are thankful to everyone who helped make it so great.
As the first session campers packed up and said their final goodbyes, the full session campers, including MWA, left camp soon after breakfast to go to Funtown Splashtown in Saco, ME. The Excalibur roller coaster and the log flume rides were among the most popular attractions with the group. The campers all had an amazing time and spent every last ounce of their energy at the water park/adventure park. When they got back to camp, they were treated to a great classic cookout dinner of burgers and dogs. With everyone being so tired, we concluded the day by watching The Sandlot before heading to bed, eager to welcome our second session campers to Birch Rock Camp.
