Campers learning how to do karate.

Happy Wednesday! Today, we awoke to a gloomy and slightly rainy morning, and the rain came on and off throughout the late afternoon. Unfortunately, that meant that all field activities were a no go for the entire day. However, all waterfront, nature, woodshop, art, and music activities were still fully operational, and they were great fun for all the counselors. The campers who did sign up for field activities went to the lodge, where they played cornhole, board games, card games, or building military battles with toy soldiers. There were multiple battles built over the course of the day, and they were all very impressive. It was fun to break out the cornhole boards for the first time this summer, too, and we had some great players participate.

For breakfast, we had some delicious french toast. Lunch served some delicious pulled pork sandwiches with some great coleslaw and a watermelon, cucumber, and mint salad that was quite interesting and tasty. For dinner, we had spaghetti and meatballs.

Ronan P. earned his Bowman in archery. Leland N. earned his GOB (junior boating). Kieran S. swam his Duck, and Lev did a great job highlighting it. He swam the Duck in only 13 minutes, which is a great time for any camper, but exceptionally great when you consider Kieran is only 8 years old!

Luckily, the rain held off later in the day enough for us to enjoy evening activity. Tonight, we had three different games going. Lower camp played Smashball, which is just tennis baseball, but all batters need to yell something like “Smash!” or “Boom!” when they hit the ball. The Moose age group played dodgeball on the basketball court, and da Bears played kickball. All three games were equally competitive and fun. A great time was had by all, both during evening activity, but also today as a whole.
