Three campers hanging out at the water front.

Today was another fantastic day at Birch Rock Camp. Breakfast this morning was a classic: eggs, bacon and homefries. Plenty of cups of coffee were consumed from our staff members as energy seemed to be at an all time high today. It was a humid and hot day today, as the sun beamed and the air felt heavy. None of this however stopped our campers and staff from having an amazing day filled with new opportunities and experiences – both old and new.

Like many days at camp, badges were flying off the shelves, especially at the waterfront. Milo S. William A. and Emmet C. all swam hard today and earned their ducks! More members to the amazing quackity club! However, Sebastian V. wanted to do more. He infiltrated the underwater loon base, learned their secrets and swam his loon! Amazing job Sebastian! Rhodey V. and Trip E. cranked out some major surfing during windsurfing. Both of them conquered the windy afternoon. and earned their Jr. and Sr. windsurfing badges respectfully.

Up on the field, it was more of a day of fun than badges, but Jack M. biked all across camp and earned his Jr. mountain biking badge, peddling and climbing very hard in the process.

Furthermore, Ethan N. has been working tirelessly on his advanced campcraft badge. Although he did not receive it today, Ethan was able to cook a perfect chicken breast on an open flame. Beyond delicious…

Lunch was an absolute favorite: chicken patties. There aren’t many other things that give campers as much joy as a juicy, perfectly cooked chicken patty. However, there is one thing: SALAD! Our amazing kitchen staff prepare healthy and hearty salads everyday to the cheers and joy of our camp. Following lunch, our wolves group left for some amazing outdoor trips. We miss you!

The evening closed out with an amazing dinner, filled with beautifully arranged greens, garlic bread, ravioli and delicious cannolis. The waitering staff absolutely loved serving their fellow comrades during the meal. Closing dinner and the day in its entirety, a new evening activity was created and played: DANNY BALL. Campers had an amazing time.

Till tomorrow!
