Let’s Rock! – July 2nd blog
Posted by: Birch Rock Camp

Today ROCKED!! It may have been the best weather we’ve had the entire summer up in Waterford. It was hot, but not too hot, breezy but not super windy, and not a storm cloud in sight. The campers were already energized, and Eddy’s delectable French Toast only made it better. There was not a frown in sight going into first period.
The morning weather made activities awesome all across campus! Down at swimming was workout Wednesday, and there were a total of 326 pushups, 412 situps, 350 in-and-outs, 285 minutes of planks, and 1350 miscellaneous exercises completed. LC Zac M decided that he works out enough, so he swam away from camp all the way to the other side of the lake, and completed his duck! The field was also a wonderful place to be today, and congrats to Martin D for completing his Jr. Lacrosse badge.
The campers’ energy was rejuvenated at lunch with sloppy Joes. I also want to take a moment to appreciate that every day, the kitchen prepares an incredible salad bar with so many wonderful options. Thank you, kitchen!! It was announced after lunch that campfire this weekend would be trio themed. We may see The Three Musketeers, Harry, Hermione, and Ron, Alvin and the Chipmunks, or so many more trios on Saturday, and I can’t wait!
The biggest event of the afternoon was the return of the otters from their trip! While camp may have been a bit quieter while they were gone, it was great to have their energy back on the hillside.
Unfortunately, the kitchen accidentally all scheduled their day off for tonight, so we didn’t have any dinner… because it was cabin night!! This is when all the cabins go to a different fire pit around campus, and cook their own hot dogs and s’mores for dinner. It’s always a great night to make some yummy food, bond with your cabin, and figure out your own evening activity. A good time was had by all!
