The wake up bell rings as camp gears up for another incredible day of fun activities! Head Counselor Musc brought the energy at morning flagpole with a rally cry of “EGGS, BACON, and SPUDS” for breakfast! A classic Birch Rock meal. The morning was bustling on the waterfront as Jeremiah G and Duncan O earned their Jr. Canoeing badges after a riveting series of aura farming boat races! Congratulations to you two!

The Birch Rock Tennis Tournament qualifier rounds wrapped up, and Alex Y won the first seed. General Swim wrapped up just as dark clouds rolled over the hills and it began to rain cats and dogs (but no Phoebes [Mike’s dog] were harmed) with loud cracks of thunder. We made our way to the Lodge for yet another classic Birch Rock meal: Chicken Patty Thursday! Pete was gracious enough to make a bowl of his special sauce as well!

The rain did not slow us down as an impromptu Cabin Competition was announced for the afternoon featuring activities such as Human Pyramid, Counselor Impression, and Original Birch Rock Song. The winning cabin was the Senior Camper cabin Zig House! Way to go gentlemen. During Second Rest campus dried up as we were treated to Jon’s famous chicken and pasta.

Field Director Manuel “Manu” finally got his time in the spotlight to announce Evening Activity spurred on by a rousing Ole cheer. On this very classical Birch Rock Thursday we played a camp classic game, Orb, or as Manu calls it, Yorb. Hacky-Sacks flew across the field in a fantastic series of rounds and we all traveled back down the driveway singing “Let’s Hit the Hay” as camp went to bed, eagerly anticipating tomorrow’s festivities.
