Birch Rock Community Update – May 1, 2020
Posted by: Birch Rock Camp
Dear Birch Rockers,
As we continue to navigate our best path forward for the 2020 season in the midst of the COVID-19 Pandemic, we appreciate your patience and understanding. When it comes to the health and safety of our camp families and staff, we want to make the best decisions for our entire community.
Maine Governor Janet Mills and her administration have presented a reopening plan for our state with some broad guidelines in a four-step approach. Presently, summer camps are included in this economic recovery roll-out for the month of July. However, Birch Rock and other camps are awaiting to receive the specific CDC and state guidelines of best practices and protocols that are currently being developed by the Maine Summer Camps COVID Task Force, American Camp Association and other medical experts. Once we are in receipt of these specific guidelines, we will have more specific information to share with you. Until then, we plan to keep everyone in the sessions they are enrolled in.
Our dedicated leadership team and Board of Trustees are committed to do our best in preserving and protecting the Birch Rock experience. Stay healthy and safe!
In the spirit of Help The Other Fellow,
Mike and Rich
