Today at Birch Rock we started the morning with a camp favorite for breakfast. The boys had a Birch Rock staple: grits for the first course, followed by eggs, potatoes, and sausage for the second course. It was also a late wakeup, which was awesome because everyone needed the extra rest.

After breakfast, the day got moving with a slightly shifted schedule because of the late start. Cleanup was normal, but it ran a little longer than usual as everyone adjusted to the timing of the day.

A big highlight came down at the waterfront, where Raphie completed his Seal. The Seal is an impressive accomplishment, as it means swimming the entire length of Lake McWain. Congratulations to Raphie on an awesome swim.

Tonight was Cabin Night, which meant dinner looked a little different. Each cabin split off into groups and built its own campfire to cook hot dogs and s’mores. After dinner, each cabin got to choose its evening activity. Some cabins went for a swim, while others headed to the field to play soccer, basketball, and frisbee.

It was a great day at Birch Rock, filled with rest, achievements, cabin pride, and a fun night around the campfire.
