Heading to the Barbershop – July 1st
Posted by: Birch Rock Camp
The day started with the familiar dings of the bell and Musc’s loud and bellowing “GOOD MORNING BIRCH ROCK!” We ate a wonderful breakfast of omletes and potatoes and went on to first period. As the first long distance swim of the season Connor polz was sent to complete his duck, which he finished in a super fast time.
During lunch the camp ate pastrami sandwiches while enjoying the beautiful sunshine. This weather was a sharp contrast to the rain we had all week so everyone was thankful for it. Afterwards, diner rolled around and it was the classic hamburgers and dogs Saturday. During announcements, a whole bunch of badges were announced, showcasing how strong and committed many campers were to their favorite activities. The final announcement after dinner was the long and awaited barber shop themed campfire!
The barbershop themed campfire was filled with fun and wacky skits. Some of which included ketchup and mustard in hair, people being drench in water, and a lovely barbershop quartet to serenade camp with camp songs. One specific part of the campfire that was great was when Theo and John both got on stage and preformed and beautiful song right before we ended. Lastly, the day was sung to an end by the quartet with a “Lets hit the hay”.
