Camp felt quite empty without the Moose and Hiltonites. The two groups went on an amazing adventure consisting of beautiful mountain ridge trails along the Carter Dome, and the iconic Flagstaff canoeing trip – synonymous with our lovely camp.

Camp started off with a surging energy that radiated within the lodge walls in the early morning. The weather was cool and clear, which was refreshing from the previous day’s fun. Campers ate a classic breakfast, consisting of: eggs, bacon and home fries. Fruit and yogurt must not be forgotten as well.

As per usual, camp was filled with badges from the top of the hill, to our beautiful lake down below. Alex Y and Clark C hit it out of the park with their baseball skills, triumphantly conquering the ball and bat to achieve their Junior Baseball badges. Javier S also showed his skills up on the field, dodgin’ and weaving through various challenges to successfully receive his Junior Lacrosse badge.

Down on the Disco Deck, swimming and waterfront activities came second-hand to our fine gentlemen. Thomas W braved the treacherous waters, proving victorious and receiving his Junior Kayaking badge! Yak Yak Yak! Ben M and King B were envious of this feat, and decided to create their own. Both of them hopped in the water, somehow shapeshifting into ducks and completing their first long-distance swims: The Duck! Quack! Along with these amazing accomplishments, Max M and Teddy B summoned the skilled aquatic energy of our marvelous Loons and joined their ranks, swimming their Loon!

As the day went on, chicken patties (a camp favorite), were served to our hungry campers. Plenty of food was consumed and the fine young men of Birch Rock filled their bodies with energy and playfulness! The day continued and a plentiful selection of activities were enjoyed to their fullest.

As the day came to a close, our amazing campers and staff enjoyed a spaghetti dinner combined with an amazing warm, hazy evening. Dessert consisted of a phenomenal Strawberry Cheesecake that satisfied all of our sweet tooths thanks to our hardworking and dedicated kitchen staff! Camp ended with a camp favorite game: Fox in the Hen House. Campers competed in an action packed game, and the shirts team came out victorious.

And a good time was had by all!
