Friday started with omelets and potatoes, followed by clean up. After that, everyone headed out to activities. The energy was high all day, and people were getting a lot done at swimming, archery, canoeing, campcraft, and everywhere else around camp.

During lunch announcements, we showed everyone an old electrical insulator that had been found near the archery range. It is more than a hundred years old and will be added to the Birch Rock archives, which are slowly but surely coming together.

A lot of badges were earned today. Spencer A. earned his Junior Campcraft badge. The Chase brothers and Ryker W swam across Lake McWain and earned their Duck badges.

Lukas J. completed his Junior Sweep, meaning he has now earned every junior badge at camp. That is a massive accomplishment and took a lot of work.

Aden R. started the 24-hour test for his Advanced Campcraft badge tonight. He will be managing his own campsite, cooking his own food, and completing the rest of the badge requirements over the next day. Everyone is pulling for him.

Dinner was Swedish meatballs. For evening activity, we played Fox in the Hen House. There was a lot of running, yelling, and confusion, so basically it went exactly as expected.

Big day for badges, big day at the waterfront, and a very good Friday at Birch Rock.

A good time was had by all.
